RE: Masks: Tales of Heroism and Villainy
"WHAT ARE YOUR FIRST THOUGHTS WHEN YOU ENTER A ROOM?"

Vigil draws an arrow back, aiming carefully.

"FOR ME? WHAT WEAPONS ARE AVAILABLE, HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE PRESENT, HOW COULD I TAKE THEM DOWN? UNLESS THERE'S PEOPLE I HAVE VESTED INTEREST IN PROTECTING PRESENT, IN WHICH CASE I ADD PROTECTING THEM TO MY LIST OF COMBAT PRIORITIES. I THEN MAKE PLANS ON HOW I WOULD TACKLE THE SITUATION, HOW I WOULD KILL POTENTIAL OPPONENTS, SO ON, SO FORTH."

He lets it fly, hitting a bullseye.

"AND WHEN I KILL? NO REMORSE. NO REGRET. I WAS BROKEN, PROCESSED, AND PUT BACK TOGETHER. I LACK THINGS LIKE EMPATHY. THINGS LIKE FEELINGS. I AM THE STEEL OF MY BROADHEADS, SHARPENED, HONED, MADE TO SLAUGHTER."

He notches another arrow and draws it back.

"I CALL MYSELF A WEAPON BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I AM. THAT'S WHY I'M HERE. THERE'S NO CHANGING THAT. ALL I CAN DO IS MAKE SURE THAT MORE LIKE ME AREN'T PRODUCED."

Vigil lets the arrow fly and thunk into the target, burying it next to the bullseye'd arrow.
