Create Your Own Mafia Role Card Game The Game Mafia
The Disastering

While I figure out what I want to do for Game of Thrones/Undertale/Boat/Some horrible hybrid of the three-fia and hopefully gather more interest so we can have a larger game there, there were requests for a weird clusterfucky game and I just had this idea. This game will have minimal flavour (I might not be able to stop myself like last time though), and operate under a ridiculous system. Basically, this game will only be as bastardy as you guys are. Here's the situation:
Every player will start the game drawing from a 'deck' of cards. These cards represent temporary roles. Each night, a player may choose one role to take on for that night and the following day and one role to discard, drawing two new roles the next night to make up for it.

At the start of the game, anyone signing up may PM me any number of roles that they want to see in their deck. They can be as simple or as complex as you like, and can include traditional roles like vanilla or cop or stuff you've just made up on the spot.

Here's the catch though - at gamestart, every player operates with identical decks, made out of every suggested card - so if you design a super strong role, it could be used against you! Just about anything goes, though there will be some limits. These limits are noted in the general rules, and may be added to for clarity as roles are submitted.

Finally, mafia and any other threat factions that could exist will, of course, get bonus roles based on the necessity of their win goal if necessary - for example, the mafia will have a special kill role always available on the off chance they don't have one available to play in their hands/aren't willing to play them.

General Rules (shamlessly stolen from me who stole them from speedchuck who stole it from others):
1. Massclaims (Large numbers of players revealing their roles at once) is highly unadvised. I mean like, anyone can have any role. Ridiculous.
2. Flavorclaiming will not save you because it probably won't exist and even if it does it's going to be ridiculous and not helpful at all.
3. Days will be 120 hours long (5 days) and nights will be 48 hours long (2 days). Extensions could be granted in specific scenarios. That's all you get, it doesn't matter if dayend hasn't been announced yet, it's still over.
4. When casting lynch votes, I won't accept votes that aren't bolded and/or coloured. I have very high standards.
5. All player-to-moderator communication should be done through provided quicktopics, which are controlled discussions.
6. Don't copy/paste from quicktopics, copypasta is the devil itself and if you make it you're a bad person. I will serve as judge jury and executioner.
7. That includes copypasta of your quicktopic link, in case you thought of sharing it.
8. Talking about the game outside of the game is also forbidden, like in Fight Club. Unlike Fight Club, breaking the rules will be rewarded with death, not new membership or whatever it was.
9. No editing or deleting posts unless you're me. If there is a really egregious issue that you can't bear (like horrible formatting errors, doubleposting) you may contact me or another, uninvolved moderator to fix it. I can't make you as incredible as one of us though.
10. If and when you die you may make one spoilered "bluh" post, which cannot contain game-relevant information, on pain of superdeath.
11. Do not post during the night phase, it's for sleeping and enacting horrible crimes against each other.
12. Day Activation / "Karkat" Rule 1: In the event a day activation is claimed (someone using a role power in the day), assume day has ended and night has begun until I tell you otherwise.
13. Day Activation / "Karkat" Rule 2: Faking day activations is strictly forbidden and punishable by moderator kill.
14. Refrain from ciphering or concealing posts. Also avoid whiting out text, and other annoying stuff like that.
15. Maintain a reasonable level of activity (minimum of one post per day). Failing to post (or have a reason for not doing so) opens you up to replacement kills after a game day.
16. Please, this is a game. Take it easy, play to have fun, but play to win! We all want to have fun. Remember that. Do keep in mind the unpredictable nature of this game can and probably will turn it into a real clusterfuck that can make this game a bit more lighthearted than most.
17. Guarantees: This setup involves no guarantees. Well, except for wincons that end the game early, silencers, and any other roles you monsters might come up with that I deem would only ruin someone's fun. While many of these general rules could be broken by designing roles around them, this one is guaranteed to remain intact.

Hey pala, just to make the odds more fair can we have a set maximum number of cards or possibly have the cards drawn as follows?

1. Randomly select between players
2. Randomly select card from chosen player.

Just for the sake of everyone having a solid chance of their own card being drawn as much as the next guy. Or idunno im sure you and coldblooded can work something out together.

@amos: We're working on a few ideas for how to handle card drawing. That said, we need cards from all of you. A lot of cards. Some of you haven't submitted cards yet, and you are card criminals. Some of you have, and your contributions are appreciated and excellent, but you are still card criminals because the card god always demands more cards for the card throne.

But if your busy, can't think of anything, or have some other obstacle in the way of card submissions don't actually worry, card crimes aren't legally crimes at all.

Thanks! I guess if they don't come too often I definitely want to play. Seems like the games here are slower than I'm used to anyway (24 hour phases) so it'll be a lot less of a problem learning/catching up/staying active
