So is Radiotower! The links aren't explicitly stated, but rest assured they exist, waiting for a potential part four game to link the two.

i made a scout mafia game that references quarantine characters in the form of au child versions or kids that somehow came to see quarantine characters as their parents or mentors or whatever and said scout mafia game also references a school where somehow al capone is a saint so lets just sweep all that under a rug because

RE: Mafia Discussion
Offtopic:

Mafia is inhererently a game about dealing with deceitful liars, paranoia, confusing situations and making reads offhow people behave in a non-personal environment (the internet vs reality) especially when playing a non scum faction.

I honestly do not believe the game can be fun without being aware that it is inherently a horribly corrupt game and taking it lightly at all times, unless you're the kind of person who thrives in stress.

A clusterfuck is, at its heart, a game of mafia. A clusterfuck does not guarantee to be fun, it guarantees that a lot of stupid stuff will happen which for some might be the root of fun in mafia. In otherwords, you have to find fun in the game yourself, serious or nonserious. There will naturally be a lot of yelling, finger pointing etc if you decide to play in that fashion. But you don't have to. If someone points a gun at your face and demands answers, you don't have to give a damn. Why not ignore a touchy subject or otherwise put fun into the statement? Call it a squirt gun, talk about something else, do whatever you want. There are no rules in mafia dictating you how to play besides the general "dont be an ass".

Dont like doing readwalls? Dont do a readwall.
Dont like writing a lot? Dont.
Someone accusing you of not contributing? Tell them yo're contributing what you feel is worth contributing.
In the end, just play mafia the way you want to play it and you will find your own enjoyment.

If you play friendly, take the game non-seriously and apologize when you make out-of-line commentary, you will contribute to making a positive atmosphere in a negative game.

Yes this is relevant to BSFia. If you still dont want to play please send replacement requests to either me or Mirdini. We respect your decision regardless.

Also you get comedy poimts for dicking around in almost all scenarios of mafia because we all enjoy lightheartedness in a heavy game such as this.

You just post the thread!

However it's highly recommended that anyone who wants to run a mafia send the set-up behind it to someone who's had some experience modding beforehand so that it gets some proofreading for game balance and suchlike.

If any /proactive/ member of the community wants to run a game, even if its their first, now would be a great time to do it. If its reviewed you have a good chance of getting at least 14 people to play.

I can recruit folk from another forum (kinda like I did for Radiotower) to ensure there are replacements and all for a smaller game.

I've been wanting to run one and now seems like a fantastic time to get back to the drawing board - once my midterms are done, I'll have time to dedicate to Mafia again.

RE: Mafia Discussion
I feel it important to note that it takes a lot of effort and time to come up with a good setup, flavor, etc. for a game. Nearly all if not all of the games I see here aren't just 10 minute cookups. Personally, I've had setups that have taken weeks before I put up a signup. Now, I understand that the games are fun, and dry spells are always boring, but my whole point is, it's not something to take for granted, and not something we can just cook up real quickly.

Hey Amos what's with posts 162-164? Hypocrite much?

In serious news, I guess if I get less busy there's a chance I could get something up and running? There's also our sister games site, but I'm not sure if that counts as advertising or not.

If it's any consolation, I'm currently working on another flavor-heavy game. Check the loading icon in my signature occasionally to see how it's going.

I look forward to seeing all your smiling faces saying "/in" when the game reaches signups probably in late July, considering how long it took for Radiotower Mafia to get going...

Possibly looking at 16-19 players? Definitely a smaller size than my previous games (21-24 players, usually).

RE: Mafia Discussion
Hi all, just want to guage interest for setting up a game of Resistance: Avalon here on the site. Resistance being a game for 5-10 players where the players set up teams in order to complete missions, however 1/3 of the players (rounding up) are scum who can deliberately fail the mission if they are on it. This version of the game was played on this forum about a year ago. The main difference with the Avalon varient (based in arthurian times rather than with modern spies) is the inclusion of Merlin and a few other named characters depending on game size, the main change with the inclusion of Merlin is that he is a member of town that knows all the scum (other than mordred), however he has to be careful how he uses this information because if town succeeds 3/5 missions then the scum get a last chance to win by guessing Merlins identity correctly. So how many people would be up for this?

LOOKING FOR HIRE

I don't know if anyone will read this posting. I'm desperate for work, and I resent having to write this like a beggar desperately looking for money.

I am a 41-year-old former freelance private detective with upwards of 20 years of experience in the law enforcement field. I was working on a high-profile case when my employer suddenly fired me. He paid me a lot of money, more than I ever expected to earn from any single case. One day, however, he fired me on the spot, saying he found a better group to investigate. When I returned to the police station where I worked as a cop, all the former staff had been cycled out and none of them would give me a position.

It's been months since I've last worked, and the money I earned working on the aforementioned case has since dwindled. Winter is approaching, and I will be unable to pay to heat my home or even feed my family. I have a beautiful wife and two daughters, and I can't afford to not care for them. They're all I have. Please help a man at his wit's end and his financial end. My number is written below. Investigative jobs preferred, but I'll take anything I can get.
