Magic Exile: University [BELOW (final act)]
MAGIC@EXILE
UNIVERSITY
Link to the original game Through the two hundred years after the unseen defeat of the Wizard King/Queen/Whatever by the hands the original wizard emigrants, wizard refugee humans became more and more common on the mighty continent of Pundora. They have built small settlements, or lived near in the cities of such natives like the wlizards or the singing orcs. They never had an empire: the evershifting and chaotic patchwork of geography and wildlife had a tendency to break up supply and trade routes at inconvenient times. On retrospect, there might have been one city state that became a major political power on this chaotic continent: the St. Walrus Wizard University. Controlled by the seven wizard orders, it is almost as chaotic as the continent itself. These are the major wizard orders of Pundora. They were not founded by the original mages, except for one. Each order has a faculty in the university, teaching a group of related subjects. Students join one faculty, but can take up extra classes from others too. Later, they have to choose a specialization in one of the Chairs inside the faculty. Your character will be the leader of such a chair. Your job will be to teach students, manage research, and argue in the University Council. The game will be about the horrifying thing that is Democracy. In the council, you will argue about changing the laws of the institution, by the way of Proposals. Can you sway/bribe your colleagues, so this won't take for all eternity? You may perform Chairly Actions either in the thread, or by PMing them to me. Maybe you will secretly explode the kitchen, or demonstrate a new, experimental spell before your collegues. If you talk with other players secretly, I'll need copies of such correspondance. Form to fill out: Quote:Name: I am not sure how many people am I looking for. 7 to 10? Updates will be weekly, or once per two weeks. HIVE is still ongoing, I am just slow at updating, sorry ;-; |

RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
![]() Name: Brenton Gell-Mann Jr. Order: The Wrapped Screamers Chair: The OCCULTS (Mathematics-centric Occultism, not the most popular in St. Walrus) Description: Hahahaha does anyone know what he looks like underneath his stupid ass cloak. Answer: NO ONE. Fortunately, his personality is another question. From a glance, people will mistaken Brenton as a lunatic and to be fair, that isn't a totally wrong guesstimate because he is kind of a lunatic. Brenton is literally chaos incarnate. However, there is a reason why he is (somehow) a chairman instead of a permanent guest at the resident looney bin. Contrary to popular Pundora belief (the general consensus of him being “Raving Shit-Twinkie”), Brenton is a fairly composed individual who is fairly tolerable if it weren't for his creepiness and occasional bout of mania. While not too exceedingly smart, his choice of words and way of thinking prove him witty and perhaps fairly charming. He isn't without his faults tho, he is fairly self-centered, infamously aggressive, incredibly stubborn and has a certain disregard for morals that might as well mug someone in an alleyway. Oh he knows Fabio. He just doesn't acknowledge his presence. Rude. A unique spell that only they know: Uncertainty - causes one ??? effect on Pundora. ??? can be good or bad or ??? |

Name: Vitirni
Order: The Good Farmers Chair: Freaky Transfigures Description: Through many failed experiments, many parts of him are different from human. He also has a tail, so it's a wonder he's still alive and accepted. He has a single robe, that's been torn by many different animal parts. He never washes it, so he stinks. A unique spell that only they know: Animal Mouth- A character's vote is reversed from the actual vote. If he votes yes for example, it will become no. Also, they get a funny little random animal mouth that disappears shortly after voting. |

![]() Name: Sigmund Baker Order: The Good Farmers Chair: The Culinaromancers Description: The Baker family originates from a lone exile whom, under the teachings of the Good Farmers, honed his craft of food-based magics to a craft. The family's magic emphasizes in the art of cooking with mana and witchery, bipassing the use of utensils to create magical recipes. Though their craft is openly taught to those who listen, their secret art of bringing food to life is kept secret only to male heirs to the family name. A unique spell that only they know: Animate Edible- Some wizards need to grow their minions or reanimate something that was once alive. Those of the Baker family can create new life from the potential energy food would bring to people, providing greater work output at the cost of a few snacks. |

They dress in bright red, figure-fitting robes and speak clearly and with PASSION. Fabio is young, somewhat arrogant, and VERY PASSIONATE. Strangely, he seems to hold a dislike for Brenton, whom he claims to have been a student alongside. While he seems to remember Brenton, Brenton has never seemed to remember him... RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
Name: Wallace Dingle Bat
Order: Runecrafters Chair: The Artisans Description: He specialises in painting runes and wants his students to be as creative as they can be. He feels it is vital for runecrafters to not only learn how to paint runes but to love doing it. Any chump can paint a basic rune, only a master can make it look beautiful. Though he tends to spaces out a bit, due to having a terrible addiction to sniffing the paint. Here is a self portrait done by himself. A unique spell that only they know: Walking With The Paint - Wallace can actually enter pictures and paintings just by drawing is very own secret rune on to them. When in the painting, he blends into it as though he was always part of it. He can then swiftly "hop" from painting to painting. Wallace has claimed that he discovered the rune by spending hours and hours drawing different types of runes on to painting. Most people think he just got high while sniffing the rune paint. |

RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
BACKKUP APP IN CASE WE CANT HAVE THE SAME ORDER (edit- I had this started before Walrus posted his. Forget it @.@)
Name: Harry Haikuni Order: Runecrafters Chair: The Poemancers Description: The order of Poemancers seek to empower objects with feelings projected by the runic symbols emblazed on objects. Poemancers take runecrafting to another level, wroting out long, rhythmical speeches in ancient text onto their various enchanted objects. While there is no evidence to say the longer poems are TECHNICALLY better, it does look a lot more pleasing than standard runecraft. Harry Haikuni is a poet and chief practitioner of poemancy. His magical arts are both beautiful and frightening. Unique Spell: Vorpal Sword- A variable enchantment spell written on a scroll. When used, the scroll folds into a magical sword matching the description the summoner makes during the poem incantation. An infinitely mightier defense than any one pen can provide. |

RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
Name: Mita Vita
Order: The Choir Chair: Necromancers Description: Unusually tall. Ungodly skinny. You can only suspect she is a skeleton walking around in human flesh. This image clashes with her colorful clothes, and the fact she wears her black hair in dreads. Is very passionate about her work. Or, at the very least, passionate about opposing people who disagree with her work. She is almost always seen with at least one animal. Usually a primate of some sort. Of course, the animal is always dead. But she does her best to keep the animals from decomposing, both through magical and alchemical means. A unique spell that only they know: Second chance. If a necromancer acts quickly, they can bring someone back to life. Not just reanimate the corpse. Actually bring someone back to life. VERY advanced spell. Someone needs to heal any life threatening injuries though. Else they're likely to just die all over again. Space is warped and time is bendable. |

Name: Bob Smith Order: Eldrids Chair: AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHAAAAhaaaawhaaaawhaaaahaaaheheheeheehee Description: Small and ordinary looking fellow. Wears a grey suit, brown shoes, plain trousers and a bow tie. Also has a small bowler hat and a cane, which he'll beat you to death with if you piss him off before turning his sights to the closest thing to you. Teacher of spells that can be fuelled by emotions and memories and the like. A unique spell that only they know: A passive spell which simply fuels him with energy, heals wounds, tiredness, magic fuel, etc. The more strong and numerous emotions there are in him and around him, the more crazy stuff he can do. Because I can. New guy. Name: Nonofyou beezwackz (pronounced as On-of-y-ou be-ez-waz, the "N" and "ck" are silent) Order: Iorni’s Cool Club For Cool People Chair: If you need to ask, you don't need to know. Description: Coolest muther-fucka you'll ever know. That's all you need to know, it's all you should want to know, you'll be happy with just that know-how-know. A unique spell that only they know: Shit dude, I got like loads of unique spells and stuff, cause I'm great and all, like that one which is like a fireball, cept strawberry. Yep. But if I had to pick one, I guess I'd say this rad little spell that let's me explode people for ten seconds. RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
Name: Socket Onnisks
Order: Eldrids Chair: Emotional Focus- The practice of using emotions to strengthen spells. Description: A young man looking to be in his twenties. Has pale skin, black hair, and solid ruby eyes. Normally wears a leather jacket with patches of sheet metal attached to it, jeans, and sneakers. Always looks bored and always has his feet on the desk. Once a traveler, Socket arrived in the territory of the Eldrids. He settled down with them, showing off his battle prowess gained from years of travel, fighting off raiders and what not. He easily appeased them with his flashy and emotion-fueled spell, gaining their trust quickly. It was a simple matter, they are a rather simple people, being focused mainly on fighting and trying to be powerful. He merely had to show off his own power and skills, and they would be impressed. A unique spell that only they know: Emotion Ball- Socket pulls all of a certain type of emotion out of a person and condenses it into a physical form. When 'broken' (as in, the emotion's form drastically and rapidly changes) it is released in an explosion that has different effects based on the emotion. As this is usually done with his own rage, it is often a red, spherical glass ball. It's okay guys. I tried. That's what matters. |

RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
Name: Yorick the Terrible
Order: Iorni's Cool Club For Cool People Chair: Pundorian History Description: Yorick is an ancient skeleton king who has been teaching history at St. Walrus since its very founding, if not before that. Most of his lectures are supplemented with his own "first hand experience" of the event, which are usually full of contradictions and inaccuracies. Many of the other professors suspect him of either having Alzheimer's or being a huge liar. But due to the chaotic nature of Pundora, it is difficult to ever tell for sure. Yorick has a pair of shining rubies fitted into his eye sockets and wears a fake beard to make sure that people take him seriously as a wizard. (He's old fashioned like that.) Depending on when you ask him, he may claim to be anywhere from 60 to 100 billion years old. Unique Spell: Mind Swipe: The ability to reach into somebody's mind, remove a memory or piece of knowledge, and implant it into the target of his choice. The original target loses the memory forever. He has used this ability to avoid getting fired more than once. Tumblr/Steam |

RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
Name: Ro'gar The Brown
Order: Iorni Chair: Hairmancer Description: A fat, short old man with a messy brown beard which looks like it's a nest for a robin. His cloak is light brown and has pockets that he keeps his biscuits in. He is usually wearing a brown wizard hat that covers his eyes. As a result you can only see his big nose and beard when he's wearing it. Ro'gar teaches hairmancy, which basically consists of teaching students how to Manipulate their hair. His methods of teaching are a bit odd, getting his students to grow moustaches and hosting moustache battles which people can bet on not usually condoned. He can also sometimes be seen running on his moustache through the halls at quite an alarming speed, while munching on a biscuit. For this reason most of the other teachers think he's a bit of a fool. Unique Spell: Beard MAN!! - He can make his beard and hair form a golem like body around him. He mostly uses it to break into the school's kitchen to steal some extra biscuits. He has never said how he discovered this spell and has no intention of doing so. |

RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
Evaluations so far
Pharmacy: The Occults is a bit of a broad term, is he teaching the importance of dribbly candles, darkened rooms and other paraphernalia? Good entry otherwise, especially if my above question's answer is a yes. MedicInDisquise: Please no powers that affect voting. And it doesn’t really fit your ICan’tGiveCredit: So you are teaching about how to preserve meat, that is more of a thing for the Farmers. A bit too creepy though. MasterBlade: Both entries are decent. Sword out of nowhere doesn’t really sound like an enchantment-y thing by itself, so it would be a very sharp folded paper sword if the second one is chosen. Kocel: The Eldrid turn their emotions into flashy battle powers. While you do mention a good combat use, emotional manipulation is not a shiny weapon. The original wizard this was based on was a berserker who had fire powers when he was angry. Supernerd: So, you are teaching housebuilding through magitech? Purple Walrus: Art is a quite abstract term, so I suppose he is teaching the concepts behind Runesmithery, then. Enchantment is not only abstract, but is a property of runecrafters. Raptarion: Solid entry. Palamedes: Solid entries, I have a tinyfeeling about the second one not being Eldritch Thingy enough but I can see that it would work MQuinny1234: Doesn’t fit the description of the order. (The original Iorni used time warp magic to work faster) Also the university does not pay after unspecified chairs. Discord: Your entry is denied for reason I am sure you know. SupahKiven: Like with Walrus, this sounds like a very abstract class to teach. Coldblooded: So he teaches history by implanting the knowledge from someone who already knows it into the head of others? That is fitting for Iorni. I imagine he employs Good Learners and mass produces Bottled Histories. |

RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
A second app just for giggles.
Name: Garmingt Order: Farmers Chair: Frozen Produce Description: A tall man with a large build, he holds out his frozen veggies for ALL TO ENJOY. He'll have to steam them though but that's not the problem. It's where he gets the frozen produce from IN THE FIRST PLACE. And that is from the belly of the Caesar Salad Sorcerapparition. Ghosts eat all kinds of things. But NO ONE WOULD HAVE GUESSED that what comes out is VEGETABLES. So Garmingt has to hunt down Sorcerapparitions who have their food digested in extremely cold conditions in their ectoplasm stomach sacs. Garmingt gets his serrated knife and cuts that shit right out of their stomachs. Or else they'll finish digesting and what comes out is not frozen. Or much of anything. At all. They poop nothing. And that is why he has joined the council today! To influence decisions about when exactly to hunt down these things. Ideally, all the time. There are other issues of course, but not being allowed to kill and sell the contents gets in the way most of the time. Most of the time. Unique Spell: Eat your VEGETABLESSSSS - Garmingt feeds everyone vegetable which shuts them up for the rest of the day. Most of them are in desperate need of some Vitamin A so THIS IS GOOD FOR THEM. (09-03-2013 02:27 AM)ProfessorLizzard Wrote: ICan’tGiveCredit: No, I teach about how to manipulate meat for... other purposes. That is why he's part of the wrapped screamers. The vortex is made out of ham but he didn't make it himself/preserve it. He gets the meat from the Farmers. |

RE: Magic Exile: University [Press @ to hold council]
(Bah, there's like, 80 other Good Farmers, I might make an Inori or Runecrafter later, but I am going to throw this up here just in case. If that's alright with you, Prof.)
Name: Ellie Williams Order: The Good Farmers Chair: Vegemancers. Description: (Picture which I assume is okay to have): Ellie comes from a long line of Vegemancers, the art of growing and animating produce as giant (and poisonous) monsters that are born to serve. Her bloodline specializes in the proud and hardy Tomato Demons, creatively named Tomatots, who have served across Pundora as laborers and workers for years now. Ellie is a bit of the newbie to the Council, only recently inheriting the chair after what would be called an untimely incident. Even though The Good Farmers have branched out to other arts, such as restorative magic and pastry animation, the chair has always taught the old fashioned art of Vegemancy. She hopes to bring new ideas to the table, striving to make sure no man or woman, regardless of their wealth, goes hungry. And she isn't afraid of getting her hands dirty to achieve it. A unique spell that only they know: Animate Scarecrow Trickster - |

Can spells get as OP as Blazers?
Because come on, having an eye on everything and copying spells is too much. Also I don't think you can have vote-related spells. |

(09-03-2013 01:57 PM)ICantGiveCredit Wrote: Can spells get as OP as Blazers? It's entirely RNG based, that was the point of the spell. I don't choose the spells, I don't choose where my "extra eyes" go, I don't choose who or what is affected by the spells borrowed (I might end up blowing myself up, for example). It's all based on the whim of the Scarecrow, who is always a potential disaster or blessing waiting to happen for whoever it may be. (And it's common fact that scarecrows do not get votes in debates of wizardry. Everyone knows that.) I just wanted a spell that is based off the Good Farmers, but isn't just a boring old "you have a minion", really. Because that's only what their magic is based on :U |

So basically your gal saw a horrible insane pumpkin minion being summoned and decided that the obvious move to make was to use that secretly vile magic summon a jerkass scarecrow?
I love it. |

I actually like AssholeScarecrow. I hope he spends the whole game copying the least useful spell. Or the most annoying. Imagine everyone getting force-fed a vegetable every other hour.

The bearcrafters sounds like a hookhand thing. Just don't use the word "Kawaii".
The scarecrow is balanced because 1, it has a very bad AI (me) 2, This game, while it is about people trying to bend the council for their agenda, is not exactly competitive. Also I owe Blazer a scarecrow minion :U |
