RE: Wings of Fury
Hrongr stepped out from behind the rock. He watched as Halevax was clinging desperately to the dragon by the chain in an incredible feat of strength and insanity.

He nommed on a salt cracker.

RE: Wings of Fury
Etep craned his neck to keep an eye on the spectacle which had just taken to the skies, before leading his horse out from behind the rock. Now the dragon was preoccupied, it was the perfect time to move further towards the dragon's actual lair. This would help in two ways - by putting himself not where the dragon thought he was, and perhaps spotting loot or a hoard (this dragon might have gathered one, considering how it was apparently a village-sacker) in the dragon's cave.

Carver frowns as he stands up and dusts himself off. He smiles though as Redthorn appears out of the smoke and fire. This is awesome!

Aldraz whistled. "Not bad for a human. If he lives, we'll have to see where he got that shield."

With that, he began chanting an ice spell, a small thing. When thrown, should cause a rapid spread of ice around the struck spot.

"By the gods..."

Cyrus had been too busy trying to reign his horse in to properly react to the dragon's words, but he did catch his new hero flying up into the air. Now that the dragon was flying away, he figured his horse would calm a bit in case...

"Hey, how will we know if Halevax falls from here?"

Because this narrative sounds too awesome to exclude, I'm going to include what you guys see and what's actually happening. At the same time.

The group could see that Halevax was still hanging on, despite the dragon's acrobatics, and looked to be climbing the dragon.

Meanwhile, the more greedy adventurers were making their way to the dragon's lair. It was a long trip, and they probably wouldn't get there before the fight was over.

***

Halevax climbed up the chain as the dragon performed numerous acrobatic maneuvers. It was tough, but this wasn't Halevax's first rodeo. As he got to a part that wasn't tail or air, he reached towards his back and pulled out one of his hooks. With great strength he stabbed it into the dragon's back, then let go of the chain and pulled out his other hook.

He began scaling the dragon, sinking his hooks into her back as he made his way towards her head.

"I hope he knows what he's doing," Mikosi muttered, barely keeping her horse in control. She wasn't about to chase after some treasure that probably wasn't even there.

She also made sure she had a potion of fire resistance left. Just in case.

RE: Wings of Fury
Halevax reached the head of the dragon with his hooks and, with a fateful jump, hooked them into the creature's eyes. Twisting the creature's head, he directed it back towards the lair. He was going to land this bitch.

However, as he drew his sword for the killing blow, she did something he hadn't anticipated. Flipping around, she put him on the side towards the mountain and breathed a final torrent of fire. He gave a final roar, knowing he was about to die, and stabbed his sword into the creature's eye and directly into her brain. .

The creature struck the mountain directly above her lair with resounding force, dead on impact and crushing Halevax between a dragon and a hard place.

Etep slowed his pace, coming to a gradual stop. Looking up at the dragon corpse splattered higher up the mountain, he couldn't help but momentarily mourn at the passing of such badassery.

Without hesitation, Mikosi rode toward Halevax as fast as possible, reaching for a healing potion. Not that there was much chance he survived the impact, but she had to be sure.

The place where Halevax and the dragon were located was up the steeper part of the mountain. Without the proper equipment, it would be nigh-impossible to reach him.

Plus he'd been smashed at great speed by multiple tons of flaming death-lizard. He was incredibly dead.

Mikosi shook her head and pocketed her potions. It would take more than alchemy to help Halevax now.

With the dragon dead, she figured she might as well join the others heading for the dragon's lair. Not much else to do, with their leader gone.

Carver would have to hunt down Pipay after exploring the dragons lair. On the bright side, he didn't need to look for Artemis, who had already flown back. What a good bird.

Time to explore a dragons lair... holy shit he's going to explore a dragons lair!

Etep picked up the pace. Although he was one of the party closest towards the cave, he might as well make the effort to get there first. Mourning the loss of the hero or not, the possibility of getting paid was diminished to nil. He wanted first pick of whatever loot was in the lair.

The rest of the group followed about forty-five seconds behind Etep and Hrongr, because the fight hadn't taken very long.

Etep and Hrongr reached the lair first, finding it to be massive, relatively dark, and filled with bones belonging to both humans and animals. There was no gold present. Etep and Hrongr were probably pretty sad.

However, a bit after the rest of the group arrived, it was noticed that there was a nest in the darker edge of the cavern. In the nest were what appeared to be ten dragon eggs. They were blue, green, red, gold, silver, black, royal purple, orange, turqoise, and white.

Etep looked around in frustration. There was going to be no pay, and no loot. This was a disaster of a trip.

His eyes caught on the pile of eggs in the corner. They'd probably be worth something. In fact, they'd almost certainly be worth a fortune to the right person. Picking up the purple one, he weighed it in his hand. "Perhaps not such wasted journey after all," he thought aloud.

Mikosi wasn't surprised at the lack of treasure in the slightest. The rainbow of eggs was a bit more surprising, and immediately caught her attention.
