Well welcome! You don't need to have prior knowledge of FTL to play this game, although I do recommend checking out some of the previously completed mafia games here to maybe get a feel of what's the haps.

Speaking of, with that we're at 17 players. However, I'm going to be sending out a PM to everyone that's signed up asking if they're still interested in playing, as some people signed up a few months ago. Once that's sorted out (assuming I still have 17 people), I'll send out Quicktopics and stuff.

Oh dang, I'd pretty much forgotten that I'd signed up for this 6 months ago. But I can still play I think.

Be warned though, my job is going to be entering our busiest time of the year soon, which means that... I'll probably still be wasting plenty of time on the internet, except now I'll have to be doing it during the times that everyone else is actually awake.

So yeah, be warned.

Hey, after signing up I realized something: I'm going to be AFK from 3:30pm EST on Friday to around 5:00pm EST (possibly later) on Sunday. So, if I'm not posting, that would be why :P Hopefully, I'll be around for the beginning and end of D1!

Work went as it always had at the base. Nothing was out of the ordinary, save for a few surprise shipments that arrived late. And yet... there was an air about the place that was different. It seemed... anxious. Almost like something was watching, waiting. But anxiety is nothing to stop work over, so everything continued. It not like there was even anything to be anxious about. The place was safe as can be... right?

Daystart begins at approximately 8pm EST. Thanks again to everybody for signing up.

DAY 1

Wrong. But you expected that, didn't you? One day, when the Federation Ship was just a couple of days from completion, all hell broke loose. Systems went haywire. The ship began screaming its coordinates for the entire sector to hear. Explosions rattled the base, blowing holes in the ship's hull and killing tens if not hundreds of staff. Some of those that were alive suddenly flew into an insane rage, attacking other workers before being mowed down by the guards. It was chaos. Nobody knew what to do. Panic rippled throughout the station like a tsunami.

The overseers of the project realized that the base was under attack, likely through internal sabotage. Sending an order to those around the ship that were still 'sane', they locked the ship up, sealing seventeen people within. They then set of an ion bomb in the ship's reactor, cutting most of the power. Scared and confused as to why they were suddenly locked in the dark, those in the ship followed protocol and gathered in the conference room. One of the overseers, a Rockman, appeared on the conference room screen, staring down the seventeen. Sounds of gunfire and explosions can be heard in the background.

“Listen.” He spoke curtly. “Unless everybody in there is deaf, you've probably heard that the base is under attack. They apparently have explosives and mind control technology, so it's very possible that they could take the base from us. In fact, we've traced multiple signatures similar to those of the explosives used in the attack on the ship. So here's the deal-” Everybody on the ship watched in horror as the Rockman grabbed an attacker and ripped his head clean off. The Rockman continued as though he didn't just decapitate somebody. “For the good of the Federation, you need to root out the Rebels and dispose of them.” And in typical Rockman fashion, the overseer cut communications without giving anyone a chance to speak. Everyone glanced around at each other.

“Just kill all of the humans!” Somebody shouted after a moment of uncomfortable silence. “The Rebels are only humans after all!”

“Yeah, but I can barely see anything!” Somebody else responded. “There's no way we can tell in the dark! Besides, they have mind control tech, you heard the overseer. Anybody could be in league with the Rebels.”

“What about Slugs? They're immune to mind control.” Somebody chimed in. “And also, it's not like everybody's blind. We can see, just not well.”

“Look, we'll just have to give this the good ol' fashioned vigilante justice!” Another shouted. Everybody stopped the scattered arguments that had begun to crop up, glancing in the general direction of this person. “There's no way one person can stand up to everyone out there, plus, we're bound to get them eventually.”

“...Are you suggesting we kill innocent people in order to weed out some of our enemies?”

“Hey.” The person responded. “Sometimes... you just gotta do when you gotta do.”

“Or we could just kill all of the humans!” The person shouted again.

“That's still killing innocents.” Someone pointed out.

“We all make sacrifices in war.”

“W-War?!” Some poor soul screeched.

“Oh boy...”

“...Look. All in favor of weeding out these criminals, say 'aye'!” Following their sentence, a chorus of anxious 'aye's broke out, along with an angry 'fine' from the guy who just wanted to kill the humans. So in the gloom and doom atmosphere of the husk of the Federation Ship, the seventeen sat down to discuss and root out the Rebel scum.


Day 1 ends February 3rd, 8PM EST

With 17 alive, it takes 9 to lynch and 5 to softlynch.
