Dungeonering: the silly sidequest
This forum game is all about the dungeons. You are an adventurer, wandering through dungeons, killing monsters, grabbing treasure, and running home before you perish. Anyone may join this game at any time. To join, simply state your name and class. Your class can be anything, but you will only give it's name. I will come up with the rest. Any flavor you want to add to your character will not effect the gameplay in any way. For example, providing a gender, age, or race will have no effect on any stats, like health. If your character dies you may choose to make a new hero. You may not make a new hero if you have any heroes currently alive. NOTE: Characters will die often.

Character Stats are as follows: Intellect, Power, and Cunning. These effect what items you can equip, and nothing else. Other stats include: Health, resistances, speed(for combat order), armour and damages. Each level some stats will increase, making your character more powerful. Levels are gained with experience, which of course means killing things. Special abilities (like crafting, alchemy, charm) can be unlocked as you level as well.

There will start off being 1 dungeon, named "Generic Dungeon(1)". Any hero group may be sent exploring for a new dungeon (limit of 10 Dungeons at a time). If a new dungeon is discovered, the player who discovered it will get to name it. What level of dungeon and what kinds of monsters are in the dungeon depend on the name.

Every dungeon has levels, in which there are monsters. If the final dungeon level or a boss level is coming up, players will be warned. If there are no players in a dungeon, all the monsters respawn. If a dungeon's final level is cleared of monsters, the dungeon is "cleared" and remains vacant permanently.

Going to town brings you to full health. You may also buy and sell items at the shop. Items that are sold at the shop can be bought again later by anyone. You can also visit the town morgue, that holds rescued dead characters just waiting to be resurrected. If you resurrect a dead character, they become yours. You are allowed to own multiple characters through this. Characters can also be rescued from the final level of a dungeon, on occasion.

HOW "TURNS" WORK
Each Player chooses a destination for their hero (either town, a dungeon, or exploring). Players who chose town heal to full health, and are free to shop. All Players who choose the same dungeon will fight together on the topmost dungeon level with monsters. Exploring groups create a dungeon. After these are resolved, all players get to choose new destinations. This will update whether or not everyone has made an action. However, do not feel rushed to commit actions. This is a Silly Sidequest, after all.

Multiple destinations are allowed, but you cannot travel after doing any of the following:
  • Fighting in a Dungeon / Fighting a Planned Fight
  • Healing any amount of Health from resting, or curing any status affects from resting
  • Dying (obviously)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO LEVEL (Each Level, Not in Total)
Level 1: 0 xp
Level 2: 10 xp
Level 3: 20 xp
Level 4 : 30 xp
Level 5: 50 xp

RE: Dungeonering: the silly sidequest
Jim Furinson, HinGEEYHA and Zed all go to town. The remainder of the people do nothing. (No automatic miniboss, that would be bad)

Jim sells his stuff(not your dagger, you'll see why), getting 7 GP. Jim then buys a Sword and Leather Armour. ((NOTE: You don't have enough Strength to wield the Sword!))

HinGEEYHA just hangs out at town.

Zed sells some junk for 17 GP. He then buys Leather Armour.

To town! We need health for our friendly slime, and I'm willing to trade with HinGEEYHA. His Rat claw for my Bat wing.

Harold has no fear of monsters! He follows the others to slay-

oh my god they went back to town. Harold sells everything (but seeds) and buys (if possible) a sword before running back to fight the miniboss.

HinGEEYHA sells everything except the donkey hide. He went to a lot of effort to get that. He then purchases leather armor.

Sandro returns to town to buy/sell stuff. Specifically, sell the random junk he's got and buy weapons and armor (which won't be named until I can see how much my junk sells for)

The one, the only, Vancho!

I cannot idly watch a generic man run to his generic death alone! I enter the dungeon.

Harold sells his monster parts for 10 GP total, and then buys a sword.
HinGEEYHA sells everything useless to him, and then buys Leather Armour.
Sandro sells his junk, bringing him to a total of 34 GP.

[Dungeon]
The following go in to attack the miniboss: Jim, Zed, Harold, and Slade + Bat. The miniboss is a Spiky Warrior! It looks like an animated suit of armour.

The Spiky Warrior jabs Jim Furinson for 3 damage! (3 blocked by armour) The Spiky Warrior kicks Harold for 1 damage. (2 blocked by armour)

Jim Furinson; 7/10 Health; 5 Speed; 3 Armour

Slade; 9/10 Health; 4 Speed; 1 Armour

Harold; 23/25 Health; 2 Speed; 2 Armour

The Dungeon shakes, sensing its demise. Do you think it asked to be the nexus for a hoard of monsters? Its own existence is bittersweet; as soon as it is emptied of the foul beasts it will be destroyed.

The four of you gain 11 xp each, causing all of you to level. Each of you gain 20 GP.
Zed gains a Sword(1-6 damage; 3 Strength required). Jim, Slade, and Harold all get 1 metal scrap.

Zed heals everyone for 1 Health. (Not that it matters, you are all going to full health anyway~)

LEVELS

Slade the Level 2 Necromancer:
+5 Health; +2 Intellect; +1 Strength;
+1 Speed; +1 Max damage
++Will Power: You can now maintain 2 minions at once.

Jim Furinson the Level 2 Player Character:

Credit, are you sure you don't want to explore separately? So that you too can create a dungeon?
EDIT: The dungeon sheds some tears. Slade experinces dripping on him as he descends a flight of stairs.

RE: Dungeonering: the silly sidequest
so combined searching doesn't create a MEGA-DUNGEON? And we can collectively name it something stupid. And innocuous. If it doesn't then I look for another dungeon, searching in an opposite direction.
