They have different strengths. Starbound is sparser and lower variety content-wise but larger world-wise. Terraria crams huge amounts of content into a smaller worldspace without the feel of overarching story Starbound has.

Starbound might be better for a community thing actually, since people can settle down on different planets and there's huge amounts of space to explore and stuff. Terraria can very easily get cramped with more than 3 or 4 server regulars.

the last time i tried hosting a game it ended prematurely due to sudden subforum death

the time before that i tried to illustrate updates and had to give it to PL and the setup ended up being imbalanced

i could make setups for people i think. but not like, actually mod.....

Maybe, if you'd like, we could work together on making a set up? I was thinking about running a sequel to FTL Mafia sometime in the far future, if people would be up for something like that.

FTL Mafia sequel would be pretty sweet.

I also feel like someone should run a Dangan Ronpa mafia at some point given that game is already quite mafia-like so the characters lend themselves well to it...plus the moderator would presumably get to be Monobear which would be hilarious.

Figured I'd take a second to bring it up. I know I've been slow to get stuff done for City Slickers, but considering how insanely occupied I was, I'm glad it's been running well and a huge thanks to Palamedes for keeping it going when I absolutely could not do the basics. I hope you're all enjoying what's currently ranking second in discussion volume (just behind Blendersongfia), and I hope you guys are enjoying the story that's finally coming to light in it.

So hypothetically speaking, some brave and gorgeous hero could come along and, hypothetically, replace every single word in that document with the word "butts"?

No reason, just asking for a friend.

Metamafia is dini's baby, but he's been hella busy lately and still needs to finish Shank a Bitch 3 over on Eagle Time.

It doesnt sound like hosting mafia is on his mind right now based on last time I spoke with him about possibly making a reboot of Metamafia.
Also yeah thats a thing.

Blendersongfia 2 probably wont happen though, dont get your hopes up about that. (I loooooooove the role design phase but I have no time to actually host it).
Its already a miracle that CH4 is a thing considering that I was wholly planning on ending the series with 3.

Why?

The original Meta Mafia had ~50 players and had to be spread out across two different threads because of how long it was. For a lot of us it would probably just be a sad reminder of all the good people that we've lost over the years due to mafia burnout or forum drift or any other incredibly serious friend causalities of time.

Also I think I vaguely remember Dini saying that he didn't really want to make Meta Mafia 2 unless he could make sure to make it even bigger and better, which... probably isn't even possible given the current number of active players here.

Still though, four and a half years??? Granola that can't possibly be right.

I don't think Kickstarter campaigns can run that long. The fact there's no edit indicator is also somewhat mystifying.

That being said, I'm probably gonna be a schmuck who throws money at the project. i really liked the design process behind Witchhunt when it made its go-round all over the MSPA forums, and I'm glad to see it's finally up on Kickstarter.
